Beware of the dogs, ¹  beware of the evil workers, beware of those who mutilate the flesh! ² 

because we are not looking at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.

Be careful! I have told you everything ahead of time.

Then ¹  Jesus ²  turned ³  to his ⁴  disciples and said privately, “Blessed ⁵  are the eyes that see what you see!

For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees?

Jesus ¹  said,] ²  “For judgment I have come into this world, so that those who do not see may gain their sight, ³  and the ones who see may become blind.”

For this reason I speak to them in parables: Although they see they do not see, and although they hear they do not hear nor do they understand.

As a result, the crowd was amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing, and they praised the God of Israel.

so that although they look they may look but not see, and although they hear they may hear but not understand, so they may not repent and be forgiven.” ¹ 

“But your eyes are blessed ¹  because they see, and your ears because they hear.

Jesus answered them, ¹  “Watch out ²  that no one misleads you.

Regaining his sight ¹  he said, “I see people, but they look like trees walking.”

Jesus began to say to them, “Watch out ¹  that no one misleads you.

Watch out! Stay alert! ¹  For you do not know when the time will come.

When they sprout leaves, you see ¹  for yourselves and know that summer is now near.

The disciples began to look at one another, worried and perplexed ¹  to know which of them he was talking about.

He bent down ¹  and saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, ²  but he did not go in.

Peter looked directly ¹  at him (as did John) and said, “Look at us!”

For ¹  three days he could not see, and he neither ate nor drank anything. ² 

Watch out, ¹  then, that what is spoken about by ²  the prophets does not happen to you:
