To him ¹  also Abraham apportioned a tithe ²  of everything. ³  His name first means ⁴  king of righteousness, then king of Salem, that is, king of peace.

He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh: “King of kings and Lord of lords.”

When King Herod ¹  heard this he was alarmed, and all Jerusalem with him.

And you will be brought before governors and kings ¹  because of me, as a witness to them and the Gentiles.

Although it grieved the king, ¹  because of his oath and the dinner guests he commanded it to be given.

So ¹  the king sent an executioner at once to bring John’s ²  head, and he went and beheaded John in prison.

There was also an inscription ¹  over him, “This is the king of the Jews.”

until another king who did not know about ¹  Joseph ruled ²  over Egypt. ³

Be subject to every human institution ¹  for the Lord’s sake, whether to a king as supreme

Then the chief priests of the Jews ¹  said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The king of the Jews,’ but rather, ‘This man said, I am king of the Jews.’”

Now this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, met Abraham as he was returning from defeating the kings and blessed him. ¹ 

The ¹  ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but will receive ruling authority ²  as kings with the beast for one hour.

They will make war with the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those accompanying ¹  the Lamb are the called, chosen, and faithful.”
