Now I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus. ¹ 

Just as you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world. ¹ 

But ¹  those tenants ²  seized his slave, ³  beat him, ⁴  and sent him away empty-handed. ⁵ 

(Now they had been sent from the Pharisees. ¹ ) ² 

so that times of refreshing ¹  may come from the presence of the Lord, ²  and so that he may send the Messiah ³  appointed ⁴  for you – that is, Jesus.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed ¹  me to proclaim good news ²  to the poor. ³  He has sent me ⁴  to proclaim release ⁵  to the captives and the regaining of sight ⁶  to the blind, to set free ⁷  those who are oppressed, ⁸ 

Again he sent other slaves, more than the first, and they treated them the same way.

He begged Jesus ¹  repeatedly not to send them out of the region.

So ¹  the king sent an executioner at once to bring John’s ²  head, and he went and beheaded John in prison.

Jesus ¹  sent him home, saying, “Do not even go into the village.” ² 

So ¹  he sent another slave to them again. This one they struck on the head and treated outrageously.

and he sent ¹  them out to proclaim ²  the kingdom of God ³  and to heal the sick. ⁴ 

Go! I ¹  am sending you out like lambs ²  surrounded by wolves. ³ 

If he cannot succeed, ¹  he will send a representative ²  while the other is still a long way off and ask for terms of peace. ³ 

So those who were sent ahead found ¹  it exactly ²  as he had told them.

A man came, sent from God, whose name was John. ¹ 

You have sent to John, ¹  and he has testified to the truth.

but ¹  I know him, because I have come from him ²  and he ³  sent me.”

Then Annas sent him, still tied up, ¹  to Caiaphas the high priest. ² 

and when he had explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.
