Furthermore, those who have fallen asleep ¹  in Christ have also perished.

Whoever tries to keep ¹  his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life ²  will preserve it.

Whoever finds his life ¹  will lose it, ²  and whoever loses his life because of me ³  will find it.

For whoever wants to save his life ¹  will lose it, ²  but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, ¹  but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

So they came ¹  and woke him up saying, “Lord, save us! We are about to die!”

Go ¹  instead to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

But the Pharisees went out and plotted against him, as to how they could assassinate ¹  him.

No, I tell you! But unless you repent, ¹  you will all perish as well! ² 

No, I tell you! But unless you repent ¹  you will all perish as well!” ² 

For the Son of Man came ¹  to seek and to save the lost.”

Yet ¹  not a hair of your head will perish. ² 

And do not complain, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroying angel. ¹ 

For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing –

we are persecuted, but not abandoned; ¹  we are knocked down, ²  but not destroyed,

They will perish, but you continue. And they will all grow old like a garment,

Through these things ¹  the world existing at that time was destroyed when it was deluged with water.

Watch out, so that you do not lose the things we have worked for, ¹  but receive a full reward. ² 

For whoever wants to save his life ¹  will lose it, ²  but whoever loses his life for my sake and for the gospel will save it.

“Which one ¹  of you, if he has a hundred ²  sheep and loses one of them, would not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture ³  and go look for ⁴  the one that is lost until he finds it? ⁵
