Now the time came ¹  for Elizabeth to have her baby, ²  and she gave birth to a son.

Today ¹  your Savior is born in the city ²  of David. ³  He is Christ ⁴  the Lord.

She ¹  was pregnant and was screaming in labor pains, struggling ²  to give birth.

but did not have marital relations ¹  with her until she gave birth to a son, whom he named ²  Jesus.

Listen: ¹  You will become pregnant ²  and give birth to ³  a son, and you will name him ⁴  Jesus. ⁵ 

While ¹  they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. ² 

Then when desire conceives, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is full grown, it gives birth to death.

She will give birth to a son and you will name him ¹  Jesus, ²  because he will save his people from their sins.”

saying, “Where is the one who is born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose ¹  and have come to worship him.”

Now ¹  when the dragon realized ²  that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.

Now ¹  the dragon’s ²  tail swept away a third of the stars in heaven and hurled them to the earth. Then ³  the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child as soon as it was born.

“Look! The virgin will conceive and bear a son, and they will call him ¹  Emmanuel,” ²  which means ³  “God with us.” ⁴ 

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in strips of cloth ¹  and laid him in a manger, ²  because there was no place for them in the inn. ³ 

When a woman gives birth, she has distress ¹  because her time ²  has come, but when her child is born, she no longer remembers the suffering because of her joy that a human being ³  has been born into the world. ⁴ 

For it is written: “Rejoice, O barren woman who does not bear children; ¹  break forth and shout, you who have no birth pains, because the children of the desolate woman are more numerous than those of the woman who has a husband.” ² 

For the ground that has soaked up the rain that frequently falls on ¹  it and yields useful vegetation for those who tend it receives a blessing from God.

So ¹  the woman gave birth to a son, a male child, ²  who is going to rule ³  over all the nations ⁴  with an iron rod. ⁵  Her ⁶  child was suddenly caught up to God and to his throne,
