For though we live ¹  as human beings, ²  we do not wage war according to human standards, ³ 

All flesh is not the same: People have one flesh, animals have another, birds and fish another. ¹ 

So then, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh

to eat ¹  your fill ²  of the flesh of kings, the flesh of generals, ³  the flesh of powerful people, the flesh of horses and those who ride them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slave, ⁴  and small and great!”

so that no one can boast in his presence.

but it is more vital for your sake that I remain ¹  in the body. ² 

and the two will become one flesh. ¹  So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

What is born of the flesh is flesh, ¹  and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

For those who live according to the flesh have their outlook shaped by ¹  the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their outlook shaped by the things of the Spirit.

– though mine too are significant. ¹  If someone thinks he has good reasons to put confidence in human credentials, ²  I have more:

For God achieved what the law could not do because ¹  it was weakened through the flesh. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

So then from now on we acknowledge ¹  no one from an outward human point of view. ²  Even though we have known Christ from such a human point of view, ³  now we do not know him in that way any longer.

Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh – who are called “uncircumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” that is performed on the body ¹  by human hands –

So, since Christ suffered ¹  in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same attitude, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin, ² 

and all humanity ¹  will see the salvation of God.’” ² 

You people ¹  judge by outward appearances; ²  I do not judge anyone. ³ 

concerning his Son who was a descendant ¹  of David with reference to the flesh, ² 

What then shall we say that Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh, ¹  has discovered regarding this matter? ² 

For the outlook ¹  of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace,

Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
