Then ¹  he began to teach ²  them by saying:

They said to him, “Lord, let our eyes be opened.”

Later, ¹  the other virgins came too, saying, ‘Lord, lord! Let us in!’ ² 

And tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had died ¹  were raised.

So they asked him, ¹  “How then were you made to see?” ² 

Then they said to him, “What did he do to you? How did he cause you to see?” ¹ 

Never before ¹  has anyone heard of someone causing a man born blind to see. ² 

Now Peter continued knocking, and when they opened the door ¹  and saw him, they were greatly astonished. ² 

because a door of great opportunity stands wide open for me, ¹  but there are many opponents.

We have spoken freely to you, ¹  Corinthians; our heart has been opened wide to you.

“To ¹  the angel of the church in Philadelphia write the following: ²  “This is the solemn pronouncement of ³  the Holy One, the True One, who holds the key of David, who opens doors ⁴  no one can shut, and shuts doors ⁵  no one can open:

“Ask ¹  and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door ²  will be opened for you.

For everyone who asks ¹  receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus sternly warned them, “See that no one knows about this.”

And immediately the man’s ¹  ears were opened, his tongue loosened, and he spoke plainly.

Immediately ¹  Zechariah’s ²  mouth was opened and his tongue ³  released, ⁴  and he spoke, blessing God.

Now when ¹  all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized. And while he was praying, ²  the heavens ³  opened,

For everyone who asks ¹  receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door ²  will be opened.

(Now the day on which Jesus made the mud ¹  and caused him to see ²  was a Sabbath.) ³ 

Others said, “These are not the words ¹  of someone possessed by a demon. A demon cannot cause the blind to see, ²  can it?” ³
