He appointed twelve: ¹  To Simon ²  he gave the name Peter;

Then Peter denied it again, and immediately a rooster crowed. ¹ 

But Peter began and explained it to them point by point, ¹  saying,

But Peter ¹  said to him, “Explain this parable to us.”

Peter said to him, “Even if they all fall away, I will not!”

(Now Philip was from Bethsaida, ¹  the town of ²  Andrew and Peter.)

One of Jesus’ disciples, ¹  Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,

Then Peter and the other disciple set out to go to the tomb. ¹ 

So when Peter saw him, ¹  he asked Jesus, “Lord, what about him?”

Peter looked directly ¹  at him (as did John) and said, “Look at us!”

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, ¹  replied, ²  “Rulers of the people and elders, ³ 

Then ¹  a voice said ²  to him, “Get up, Peter; slaughter ³  and eat!”

But Peter said, “Certainly not, Lord, for I have never eaten anything defiled and ritually unclean!” ¹ 

They ¹  called out to ask if Simon, known as Peter, ²  was staying there as a guest.

for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising ¹  God. Then Peter said,

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, ¹  the circumcised believers ²  took issue with ³  him,

I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Get up, Peter; slaughter ¹  and eat!’

Now Peter continued knocking, and when they opened the door ¹  and saw him, they were greatly astonished. ² 

From Peter, ¹  an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those temporarily residing ²  abroad ³  (in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, the province of Asia, ⁴  and Bithynia) who are chosen ⁵ 

Then ¹  the Lord turned and looked straight at Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, ²  how he had said to him, “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.”
