When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. But when I became an adult, ¹  I set aside childish ways.

When ¹  the plants sprouted and bore grain, then the weeds also appeared.

Now when ¹  Jesus finished these parables, he moved on from there.

When ¹  he was twelve years old, ²  they went up ³  according to custom.

Now ¹  when the hour came, Jesus ²  took his place at the table ³  and the apostles joined ⁴  him.

When Pilate heard what they said, ¹  he was more afraid than ever, ² 

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, ¹  the circumcised believers ²  took issue with ³  him,

For when you were slaves of sin, you were free with regard to righteousness.

You also lived your lives ¹  in this way at one time, when you used to live among them.

¹  But “when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared,

For he was still in his ancestor Abraham’s loins ¹  when Melchizedek met him.

For a will takes effect only at death, since it carries no force while the one who made it is alive.

When ¹  Jesus finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed by his teaching,

But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and gently took her by the hand, and the girl got up.

He ¹  said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry –

When ¹  Jesus had finished saying all these things, he told his disciples,

When the sun came up it was scorched, and because it did not have sufficient root, ¹  it withered.

When he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

Now ¹  when Jesus ²  had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about the parable.

“When I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?” They replied, ¹  “Seven.”
