We must go out to him, then, outside the camp, bearing the abuse he experienced. ¹ 

And he must be well thought of by ¹  those outside the faith, ²  so that he may not fall into disgrace and be caught by the devil’s trap. ³ 

At times you were publicly exposed to abuse and afflictions, and at other times you came to share with others who were treated in that way.

He regarded abuse suffered for Christ ¹  to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for his eyes were fixed on ²  the reward.

For even Christ did not please himself, but just as it is written, “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.” ¹
