So ¹  he sent another slave to them again. This one they struck on the head and treated outrageously.

And when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.

They went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.

Then he will show you a large furnished room upstairs. Make preparations there.”

but ¹  I know him, because I have come from him ²  and he ³  sent me.”

On the contrary, we believe that we are saved through ¹  the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they are.” ² 

If we endure, we will also reign with him. ¹  If we deny ²  him, ³  he will also deny us.

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a person.

He sent another, and that one they killed. This happened to many others, some of whom were beaten, others killed.

So ¹  he sent another slave. They beat this one too, treated him outrageously, and sent him away empty-handed. ² 

When they reached Ephesus, ¹  Paul ²  left Priscilla and Aquila ³  behind there, but he himself went ⁴  into the synagogue ⁵  and addressed ⁶  the Jews.

And even they – if they do not continue in their unbelief – will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

These things happened as examples for us, so that we will not crave evil things as they did.

Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so the one who consumes ¹  me will live because of me.

For we had good news proclaimed to us just as they did. But the message they heard did them no good, since they did not join in ¹  with those who heard it in faith. ² 

Then ¹  he will reply ²  from inside, ‘Do not bother me. The door is already shut, and my children and I are in bed. ³  I cannot get up and give you anything.’ ⁴ 

“But woe to you Pharisees! ¹  You give a tenth ²  of your mint, ³  rue, ⁴  and every herb, yet you neglect justice ⁵  and love for God! But you should have done these things without neglecting the others. ⁶ 

I have ¹  other sheep that do not come from ²  this sheepfold. ³  I must bring them too, and they will listen to my voice, ⁴  so that ⁵  there will be one flock and ⁶  one shepherd.

I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  the person who believes in me will perform ²  the miraculous deeds ³  that I am doing, ⁴  and will perform ⁵  greater deeds ⁶  than these, because I am going to the Father.

“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, ¹  so that they can see my glory that you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world ² .
