You be on guard against him ¹  too, because he vehemently opposed our words.

And if you haven’t been trustworthy ¹  with someone else’s property, ²  who will give you your own ³ ?

both Jews and proselytes, ¹  Cretans and Arabs – we hear them speaking in our own languages about the great deeds God has done!” ² 

They know, ¹  because they have known ²  me from time past, ³  if they are willing to testify, that according to the strictest party ⁴  of our religion, I lived as a Pharisee. ⁵ 

Here is another way that our people ¹  can learn ²  to engage in good works to meet pressing needs and so not be unfruitful.

For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.

and he himself is the atoning sacrifice ¹  for our sins, and not only for our sins but also for the whole world. ² 

What we have seen and heard we announce ¹  to you too, so that ²  you may have fellowship ³  with us (and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ).
