Who really knows if the human spirit ¹  ascends upward, and the animal’s spirit descends into the earth?

Pride ¹  goes ²  before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. ³ 

Don’t you understand that whatever goes into the mouth enters the stomach and then passes out into the sewer? ¹ 

He goes about ¹  in company ²  with evildoers, he goes along ³  with wicked men. ⁴ 

Where there is no wood, a fire goes out, and where there is no gossip, ¹  contention ceases. ² 

The wind goes to the south and circles around to the north; round and round ¹  the wind goes and on its rounds it returns. ² 

Fire goes before him; on every side ¹  it burns up his enemies.

Men then go out to do their work, and labor away until evening. ¹ 

A worthless and wicked person ¹  walks around saying perverse ²  things; ³ 

As ¹  a cloud is dispersed and then disappears, ²  so the one who goes down to the grave ³  does not come up again. ⁴ 

When the righteous do well, ¹  the city rejoices; ²  when the wicked perish, there is joy.

The one who goes about slandering others ¹  reveals ²  secrets, but the one who is trustworthy ³  conceals a matter.

“It’s worthless! It’s worthless!” ¹  says the buyer, ²  but when he goes on his way, he boasts. ³ 

Do not look on the wine when it is red, when it sparkles ¹  in the cup, when it goes down smoothly. ² 

A generation comes ¹  and a generation goes, ²  but the earth remains ³  the same ⁴  through the ages. ⁵ 

The sun rises ¹  and the sun sets; ²  it hurries away ³  to a place from which it rises ⁴  again. ⁵ 

What defiles a person is not what goes into the mouth; it is what ¹  comes out of the mouth that defiles a person.”

Then ¹  the rich man ²  said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead ³  goes to them, they will repent.’

The one who goes about gossiping ¹  reveals secrets; therefore do not associate ²  with someone who is always opening his mouth. ³ 

Instead, does a Christian sue a Christian, ¹  and do this before unbelievers?
