“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad ¹  and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is known by its fruit.

In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad ¹  tree bears bad fruit.

A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit.

So then, you will recognize them by their fruit.

Joseph is a fruitful bough, ¹  a fruitful bough near a spring whose branches ²  climb over the wall.

Therefore produce fruit ¹  that proves your ²  repentance,

In the fourth year all its fruit will be holy, praise offerings ¹  to the Lord.

you mountains and all you hills, you fruit trees and all you cedars,

He takes away ¹  every branch that does not bear ²  fruit in me. He ³  prunes ⁴  every branch that bears ⁵  fruit so that it will bear more fruit.

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat ¹  of the fruit from the trees of the orchard;

At the designated time ¹  Cain brought some of the fruit of the ground for an offering ²  to the Lord.

But as for you, ¹  be fruitful and multiply; increase abundantly on the earth and multiply on it.”

and a fruitful land into a barren place, ¹  because of the sin of its inhabitants.

They cultivated ¹  fields, and planted vineyards, which yielded a harvest of fruit. ² 

Yes, ¹  sons ²  are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward.

Mourn over the field, ¹  over the delightful fields and the fruitful vine!

“For ¹  no good tree bears bad ²  fruit, nor again ³  does a bad tree bear good fruit,

I designed ¹  royal gardens ²  and parks ³  for myself, and I planted all kinds of fruit trees in them.

On both sides of the river’s banks, every kind of tree will grow for food. Their leaves will not wither nor will their fruit fail, but they will bear fruit every month, because their water source flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.” ¹ 

I will give you your rains in their time so that ¹  the land will give its yield and the trees of the field will produce their fruit. ²
