Five ¹  of the virgins ²  were foolish, and five were wise.

When ¹  the foolish ones took their lamps, they did not take extra ²  olive oil ³  with them.

The people of those nations ¹  are both stupid and foolish. Instruction from a wooden idol is worthless! ² 

But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, ¹  quarrels, and fights about the law, ²  because they are useless and empty.

For God wants you ¹  to silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good.

Every wise woman ¹  builds ²  her household, ³  but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.

A foolish child ¹  is the ruin of his father, and a contentious wife ²  is like ³  a constant dripping. ⁴ 

For the wisdom of this age is foolishness with God. As it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness.” ¹ 

For ¹  wrath kills the foolish person, ²  and anger ³  slays the silly one.

A foolish scheme ¹  is sin, and the scorner is an abomination to people. ² 

There is desirable treasure and olive oil ¹  in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish person ²  devours all he has. ³ 

At the beginning his words ¹  are foolish and at the end ²  his talk ³  is wicked madness, ⁴ 

an educator of the senseless, a teacher of little children, because you have in the law the essential features of knowledge and of the truth –
