Noah ¹  was 600 years old when the floodwaters engulfed ²  the earth.

And after seven days the floodwaters engulfed the earth. ¹ 

The Lord sits enthroned over the engulfing waters, ¹  the Lord sits enthroned ²  as the eternal king.

I am about to bring ¹  floodwaters ²  on the earth to destroy ³  from under the sky all the living creatures that have the breath of life in them. ⁴  Everything that is on the earth will die,

Don’t let the current overpower me! Don’t let the deep swallow me up! Don’t let the pit ¹  devour me! ² 

The waters prevailed over ¹  the earth for 150 days.

You broke open the spring and the stream; ¹  you dried up perpetually flowing rivers. ² 

They surround me like water all day long; they join forces and encircle me. ¹ 

So look, the sovereign master ¹  is bringing up against them the turbulent and mighty waters of the Euphrates River ²  – the king of Assyria and all his majestic power. It will reach flood stage and overflow its banks. ³ 

Noah entered the ark along with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives because ¹  of the floodwaters.

and sent out a raven; it kept flying ¹  back and forth until the waters had dried up on the earth.

But God remembered ¹  Noah and all the wild animals and domestic animals that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind to blow over ²  the earth and the waters receded.

I confirm ¹  my covenant with you: Never again will all living things ²  be wiped out ³  by the waters of a flood; ⁴  never again will a flood destroy the earth.”

then I will remember my covenant with you ¹  and with all living creatures of all kinds. ²  Never again will the waters become a flood and destroy ³  all living things. ⁴ 

For this reason every one of your faithful followers ¹  should pray to you while there is a window of opportunity. ²  Certainly ³  when the surging water ⁴  rises, it will not reach them. ⁵ 

Surging waters cannot quench love; floodwaters ¹  cannot overflow it. If someone were to offer all his possessions ²  to buy love, ³  the offer ⁴  would be utterly despised. ⁵ 

I will make justice the measuring line, fairness the plumb line; hail will sweep away the unreliable refuge, ¹  the floodwaters will overwhelm the hiding place.

I saw ¹  the glory of the God of Israel ²  coming from the east; ³  the sound was like that of rushing water; ⁴  and the earth radiated ⁵  his glory.

The rain fell, the flood ¹  came, and the winds beat against that house, but it did not collapse because it had been founded on rock.
