to eat ¹  your fill ²  of the flesh of kings, the flesh of generals, ³  the flesh of powerful people, the flesh of horses and those who ride them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slave, ⁴  and small and great!”

You will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters. ¹ 

and the two will become one flesh. ¹  So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

What is born of the flesh is flesh, ¹  and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

So then, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh

All flesh is not the same: People have one flesh, animals have another, birds and fish another. ¹ 

For my flesh is true ¹  food, and my blood is true ²  drink.

The folds ¹  of its flesh are tightly joined; they are firm on it, immovable. ² 

I will put your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your maggot-infested carcass. ¹ 

Then the man said, “This one at last ¹  is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one will be called ²  ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of ³  man.” ⁴ 

but the flesh and the hide he completely burned up ¹  outside the camp. ² 

But whenever raw flesh appears in it ¹  he will be unclean,

Is my strength like that of stones? ¹  or is my flesh made of bronze?

Do I eat the flesh of bulls? Do I drink the blood of goats? ¹ 

For though we live ¹  as human beings, ²  we do not wage war according to human standards, ³ 

On ¹  the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin ²  must be circumcised.

and all humanity ¹  will see the salvation of God.’” ² 

all flesh would perish together and human beings would return to dust.

My body ¹  trembles ²  because I fear you; ³  I am afraid of your judgments.

The fool folds his hands and does no work, ¹  so he has nothing to eat but his own flesh. ²
