hands, but cannot touch, feet, but cannot walk. They cannot even clear their throats. ¹ 

Samson said to the young man who held his hand, “Position me so I can touch the pillars that support the temple. ¹  Then I can lean on them.”

So whenever the spirit from God would come upon Saul, David would take his lyre and play it. This would bring relief to Saul and make him feel better. Then the evil spirit would leave him alone. ¹ 

And you will be secure, because there is hope; you will be protected ¹  and will take your rest in safety.

For he knows no satisfaction in his appetite; ¹  he does not let anything he desires ²  escape. ³ 

God ¹  may let them rest in a feeling of security, ²  but he is constantly watching ³  all their ways. ⁴ 

Indeed, ¹  your servants take delight in her stones, and feel compassion for ²  the dust of her ruins. ³ 

As a father has compassion on his children, ¹  so the Lord has compassion on his faithful followers. ²
