so that his life loathes food, and his soul rejects appetizing fare. ¹ 

Then Peter started speaking: ¹  “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism in dealing with people, ² 

For there is no partiality with God.

Of Asher he said: Asher is blessed with children, may he be favored by his brothers and may he dip his foot in olive oil. ¹ 

But from those who were influential ¹  (whatever they were makes no difference to me; God shows no favoritism between people ² ) – those influential leaders ³  added ⁴  nothing to my message. ⁵ 

and you must not show partiality ¹  to a poor man in his lawsuit.

Masters, ¹  treat your slaves ²  the same way, ³  giving up the use of threats, ⁴  because you know that both you and they have the same master in heaven, ⁵  and there is no favoritism with him.

Before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, I solemnly charge you to carry out these commands without prejudice or favoritism of any kind. ¹

He says, ¹  “How long will you make unjust legal decisions and show favoritism to the wicked? ²  (Selah)

These sayings also are from the wise: To show partiality ¹  in judgment is terrible: ² 

To show partiality ¹  is terrible, ²  for a person will transgress over the smallest piece of bread. ³ 

The Lover to His Beloved: O my beloved, you are like ¹  a ²  mare ³  among Pharaoh’s stallions. ⁴ 

For the one who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, ¹  and there are no exceptions. ² 

But if you show prejudice, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as violators. ¹ 

For to the one who pleases him, ¹  God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy, but to the sinner, he gives the task of amassing ²  wealth ³  – only to give ⁴  it ⁵  to the one who pleases God. This ⁶  task of the wicked ⁷  is futile – like chasing the wind!
