The Lord was with Joshua and he became famous throughout the land. ¹ 

So David became famous ¹  in all the lands; the Lord caused all the nations to fear him. ² 

If you kill ¹  this entire people at once, ²  then the nations that have heard of your fame will say,

And the news of this spread throughout that region. ¹ 

But they went out and spread the news about him throughout that entire region. ¹ 

He was wiser than any man, including Ethan the Ezrahite or Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol. He was famous in all the neighboring nations. ¹ 

When the queen of Sheba heard about Solomon, ¹  she came to challenge ²  him with difficult questions. ³ 

The Ammonites paid tribute to Uzziah and his fame reached ¹  the border of Egypt, for he grew in power.

They will talk about the fame of your great kindness, ¹  and sing about your justice. ² 

Mordecai was of high rank ¹  in the king’s palace, and word about him was spreading throughout all the provinces. His influence ²  continued to become greater and greater.

So ¹  the news about him spread quickly throughout all the region around Galilee.

At that time Herod the tetrarch ¹  heard reports about Jesus,

Your fame ¹  spread among the nations because of your beauty; your beauty was perfect because of the splendor which I bestowed on you, declares the sovereign Lord. ² 

Then ¹  he will elevate you above all the nations he has made and you will receive praise, fame, and honor. ²  You will ³  be a people holy to the Lord your God, as he has said.

In Jerusalem he made war machines carefully designed to shoot arrows and large stones from the towers and corners of the walls. He became very famous, for he received tremendous support and became powerful. ¹ 

O Lord, your name endures, ¹  your reputation, O Lord, lasts. ² 

So in the east ¹  extol the Lord, along the seacoasts extol ²  the fame ³  of the Lord God of Israel.

“‘But you trusted in your beauty and capitalized on your fame by becoming a prostitute. You offered your sexual favors to every man who passed by so that your beauty ¹  became his.

I will perform a mighty act among them ¹  and then send some of those who remain to the nations – to Tarshish, Pul, ²  Lud ³  (known for its archers ⁴ ), Tubal, Javan, ⁵  and to the distant coastlands ⁶  that have not heard about me or seen my splendor. They will tell the nations of my splendor.

People will reside again ¹  in his shade; they will plant and harvest grain in abundance. ²  They will blossom like a vine, and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon.
