Certainly ¹  the Lord has chosen Zion; he decided to make it his home. ² 

And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired ¹  to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

The sailors ¹  rejoiced because the waves ²  grew quiet, and he led them to the harbor ³  they desired.

He said, ¹  “This will be my resting place forever; I will live here, for I have chosen it. ² 

So Hiram supplied the cedars and evergreens Solomon needed, ¹ 

They are of greater value ¹  than gold, than even a great amount of pure gold; they bring greater delight ²  than honey, than even the sweetest honey from a honeycomb.

I did not restrain myself from getting whatever I wanted; ¹  I did not deny myself anything that would bring me pleasure. ²  So all my accomplishments gave me joy; ³  this was my reward for all my effort. ⁴ 

If I have refused to give the poor what they desired, ¹  or caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

After Solomon finished building the Lord’s temple, the royal palace, and all the other construction projects he had planned, ¹ 

all the storage cities that belonged to him, ¹  and the cities where chariots and horses were kept. ²  He built whatever he wanted in Jerusalem, Lebanon, and throughout his entire kingdom. ³ 

But I have not pestered you to bring disaster. ¹  I have not desired the time of irreparable devastation. ²  You know that. You are fully aware of every word that I have spoken. ³ 

For wisdom is better than rubies, and desirable things cannot be compared ¹  to her.

What is desirable ¹  for a person is to show loyal love, ²  and a poor person is better than a liar. ³ 

Indeed, they ¹  will be ashamed of the sacred trees you ²  find so desirable; you will be embarrassed because of the sacred orchards ³  where you choose to worship.

So when he came into the world, he said, “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.

Bunch yourselves together like straw, ¹  you undesirable ²  nation,

the woman would go to the king in the following way: Whatever she asked for would be provided for her to take with her from the harem to the royal palace.

Why do you look with envy, ¹  O mountains ²  with many peaks, at the mountain where God has decided to live? ³  Indeed ⁴  the Lord will live there ⁵  permanently!

and built up Baalath, all the storage cities that belonged to him, ¹  and all the cities where chariots and horses were kept. ²  He built whatever he wanted in Jerusalem, ³  Lebanon, and throughout his entire kingdom. ⁴ 

King Solomon gave King Hiram of Tyre ¹  twenty cities in the region of Galilee, because Hiram had supplied Solomon with cedars, evergreens, and all the gold he wanted.
