These are the things that defile a person; it is not eating with unwashed hands that defiles a person.” ¹ 

What defiles a person is not what goes into the mouth; it is what ¹  comes out of the mouth that defiles a person.”

I saw that she was defiled; both of them followed the same path.

“‘They must not come near a dead person or they will be defiled; ¹  however, for father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister, they may defile themselves.

“‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things, for the nations which I am about to drive out before you ¹  have been defiled with all these things.

There is nothing outside of a person that can defile him by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles him.” ¹ 

All these evils come from within and defile a person.”

But if the woman has not defiled herself, and is clean, then she will be free of ill effects ¹  and will be able to bear children.

Please remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, the covenant of the priesthood, ¹  and the Levites.

The Babylonians crawled into bed with her. ¹  They defiled her with their lust; after she was defiled by them, she ²  became disgusted with them.

He said, “What comes out of a person defiles him.

Jacob’s sons killed them ¹  and looted the city because their sister had been violated. ² 

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a person.

and if jealous feelings ¹  come over him and he becomes suspicious ²  of his wife, when she is defiled; ³  or if jealous feelings come over him and he becomes suspicious of his wife, when she is not defiled –

“‘Thus you ¹  are to set the Israelites apart from their impurity so that they ²  do not die in their impurity by defiling my tabernacle which is in their midst.
