Correct us, Lord, but only in due measure. 1 Do not punish us in anger or you will reduce us to nothing. 2
Whether it is for punishment 1 for his land, or whether it is for mercy, he causes it to find its mark. 2
For the Lord disciplines 1 those he loves, just as a father 2 disciplines 3 the son in whom he delights.
She is disobedient; 1 she refuses correction. 2 She does not trust the Lord; she does not seek the advice of 3 her God.
“Therefore, 1 blessed 2 is the man whom God corrects, 3 so do not despise the discipline 4 of the Almighty. 5
Whoever corrects 1 a mocker is asking for 2 insult; 3 whoever reproves a wicked person receives 4 abuse.
Every scripture 1 is inspired by God 2 and useful for teaching, for reproof, 3 for correction, and for training in righteousness,
My child, do not despise discipline from the Lord, 1 and do not loathe 2 his rebuke.
The one who loves discipline loves knowledge, 1 but the one who hates reproof is stupid. 2
A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds reproof shows good sense. 1
Severe discipline 1 is for the one who abandons the way; the one who hates reproof 2 will die.
The one who refuses correction despises himself, 1 but whoever hears 2 reproof acquires understanding. 3
A servant 1 cannot be corrected 2 by words, for although 3 he understands, there is no answer. 4
Jesus 1 said to him, “You have answered correctly; 2 do this, and you will live.”
“It did no good for me to punish your people. They did not respond to such correction. You slaughtered your prophets like a voracious lion.” 1
So tell them: ‘This is a nation that has not obeyed the Lord their God and has not accepted correction. Faithfulness is nowhere to be found in it. These people do not even profess it anymore. 1
The one who neglects 1 discipline ends up in 2 poverty and shame, but the one who accepts reproof is honored. 3
Do not withhold discipline from a child; even if you strike him with the rod, he will not die.
Discipline your child, and he will give you rest; 1 he will bring you 2 happiness. 3
correcting 1 opponents with gentleness. Perhaps God will grant them repentance and then knowledge of the truth 2
