You must also anoint the large basin and its pedestal, and you are to sanctify it. 1
1 When Moses had completed setting up the tabernacle, 2 he anointed it and consecrated it and all its furnishings, and he anointed and consecrated the altar and all its utensils.
and 600 bulls and 3,000 sheep 1 were consecrated.
“‘You must sanctify yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord your God.
Then Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything in it, and so consecrated them. 1
He then poured some of the anointing oil on the head of Aaron and anointed him to consecrate him.
For seven days they will make atonement for the altar and cleanse it, so they will consecrate it. 1
“You are to anoint Aaron and his sons and 1 sanctify them, so that they may minister as my priests.
“So I will set apart as holy 1 the tent of meeting and the altar, and I will set apart as holy Aaron and his sons, that they may minister as priests to me.
He said to them: “Listen to me, you Levites! Now consecrate yourselves, so you can consecrate the temple of the Lord God of your ancestors! 1 Remove from the sanctuary what is ceremonially unclean!
He replied, “Yes, in peace. I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves and come with me to the sacrifice.” So he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.
So you are to sanctify them, 1 and they will be most holy; 2 anything that touches them will be holy. 3
You are to sanctify the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution, 1 which were waved and lifted up as a contribution from the ram of consecration, from what belongs to Aaron and to his sons.
They are to eat those things by which atonement was made 1 to consecrate and to set them apart, but no one else 2 may eat them, for they are holy.
for gold and silver items, and for all the work of the craftsmen. Who else wants to contribute to the Lord today?”
“You are to clothe them – your brother Aaron and his sons with him – and anoint them 1 and ordain them 2 and set them apart as holy, 3 so that they may minister as my priests.
Next he sprinkled some of it on the altar seven times and so anointed the altar, all its vessels, and the wash basin and its stand to consecrate them.
Let the priests also, who approach the Lord, sanctify themselves, lest the Lord break through 1 against them.”
The priests and Levites consecrated themselves so they could bring up the ark of the Lord God of Israel.
And I set myself apart 1 on their behalf, 2 so that they too may be truly set apart. 3
