The Word ¹  was with God in the beginning.

In the beginning ¹  God ²  created ³  the heavens and the earth. ⁴ 

All ¹  these things are the beginning of birth pains.

The beginning of the gospel ¹  of Jesus Christ, ²  the Son of God. ³ 

An inheritance gained easily ¹  in the beginning will not be blessed ²  in the end. ³ 

and he begins to beat his fellow slaves and to eat and drink with drunkards,

But from the beginning of creation he ¹  made them male and female. ² 

In the beginning ¹  was the Word, and the Word was with God, ²  and the Word was fully God. ³

Then I said, ¹  “Lord, from the very beginning you have been seated on your glorious throne on high. You are the place where we can find refuge.

As for you, what you have heard from the beginning must remain ¹  in you. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.

For it is time for judgment to begin, starting with the house ¹  of God. And if it starts with us, what will be the fate ²  of those who are disobedient to the gospel of God?

Fearing the Lord ¹  is the beginning ²  of moral knowledge, ³  but ⁴  fools ⁵  despise ⁶  wisdom and instruction. ⁷ 

The beginning ¹  of wisdom is to fear the Lord, ²  and acknowledging ³  the Holy One ⁴  is understanding.

The end of a matter ¹  is better than its beginning; likewise, patience ²  is better than pride. ³ 

Then ¹  beginning with Moses and all the prophets, ²  he interpreted to them the things written about ³  himself in all the scriptures.

and repentance ¹  for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed ²  in his name to all nations, ³  beginning from Jerusalem. ⁴ 

and you also will testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.
