but I was let down in a rope-basket ¹  through a window in the city wall, and escaped his hands.

So I want the men ¹  to pray ²  in every place, lifting up holy hands ³  without anger or dispute.

Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double-minded. ¹ 

“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their ¹  hands when they eat.” ² 

When ¹  they gathered together in Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. ² 

Then little children were brought to him for him to lay his hands on them and pray. ¹  But the disciples scolded those who brought them. ² 

Jesus ¹  said to him, “Friend, do what you are here to do.” Then they came and took hold ²  of Jesus and arrested him.

He asked him urgently, “My little daughter is near death. Come and lay your hands on her so that she may be healed and live.”

(For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they perform a ritual washing, ¹  holding fast to the tradition of the elders.

they will pick up snakes with their hands, and whatever poison they drink will not harm them; ¹  they will place their hands on the sick and they will be well.”

“Take these words to heart, ¹  for the Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men.” ² 

Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” ¹  And after he said this he breathed his last.

that ¹  the Son of Man must be delivered ²  into the hands of sinful men, ³  and be crucified, ⁴  and on the third day rise again.” ⁵ 

Because Jesus ¹  knew that the Father had handed all things over to him, ²  and that he had come from God and was going back to God,

When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. ¹ 

saying, “Give me this power ¹  too, so that everyone I place my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”

and when Paul placed ¹  his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came ²  upon them, and they began to speak ³  in tongues and to prophesy. ⁴ 

But about Israel he says, “All day long I held out my hands to this disobedient and stubborn people!” ¹ 

He came ¹  to us, took ²  Paul’s belt, ³  tied ⁴  his own hands and feet with it, ⁵  and said, “The Holy Spirit says this: ‘This is the way the Jews in Jerusalem will tie up the man whose belt this is, and will hand him over ⁶  to the Gentiles.’”

Then the king said to his attendants, ‘Tie him up hand and foot and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!’
