Better is open ¹  rebuke than hidden ²  love.

The pillars ¹  of the heavens tremble and are amazed at his rebuke. ² 

Your shout made the waters retreat; at the sound of your thunderous voice they hurried off –

A wise son accepts ¹  his father’s discipline, ²  but a scoffer ³  does not listen to rebuke.

The Lord ¹  said to Satan, “May the Lord rebuke you, Satan! May the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, ²  rebuke you! Isn’t this man like a burning stick snatched from the fire?”

At the sound of your battle cry, ¹  O God of Jacob, both rider ²  and horse “fell asleep.” ³ 

You reprimand arrogant people. Those who stray from your commands are doomed. ¹ 

It is better for a person to receive ¹  a rebuke from those who are wise ²  than to listen to the song ³  of fools.

A rebuke makes a greater impression on ¹  a discerning person than a hundred blows on a fool. ² 

He spoke openly about this. So ¹  Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.

Watch ¹  yourselves! If ²  your brother ³  sins, rebuke him. If ⁴  he repents, forgive him.

Such testimony is true. For this reason rebuke them sharply that they may be healthy in the faith

It is burned ¹  and cut down. They die because you are displeased with them. ² 

But ¹  some of the Pharisees ²  in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” ³ 

A psalm of David, written to get God’s attention. ²  O Lord, do not continue to rebuke me in your anger! Do not continue to punish me in your raging fury! ³ 

For look, the Lord comes with fire, his chariots come like a windstorm, ¹  to reveal his raging anger, his battle cry, and his flaming arrows. ² 

He would certainly rebuke ¹  you if you secretly ²  showed partiality!

But there will be delight ¹  for those who convict ²  the guilty, ³  and a pleasing blessing ⁴  will come on them.

Do not address an older man harshly ¹  but appeal to him as a father. Speak to younger men as brothers, ² 

Those guilty of sin ¹  must be rebuked ²  before all, ³  as a warning to the rest. ⁴
