At ¹  that time ²  a great disturbance ³  took place concerning the Way. ⁴ 

When this sound ¹  occurred, a crowd gathered and was in confusion, ²  because each one heard them speaking in his own language.

So there was a division in the crowd ¹  because of Jesus. ² 

Then ¹  there were flashes of lightning, roaring, ²  and crashes of thunder, and there was a tremendous earthquake – an earthquake unequaled since humanity ³  has been on the earth, so tremendous was that earthquake.

Then when the proconsul ¹  saw what had happened, he believed, ²  because he was greatly astounded ³  at the teaching about ⁴  the Lord.

These things happened as examples for us, so that we will not crave evil things as they did.

There was a famine in the land, subsequent to the earlier famine that occurred ¹  in the days of Abraham. ²  Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines at Gerar.

They have strayed from the truth ¹  by saying that the resurrection has already occurred, and they are undermining some people’s faith.

The seven years of abundance in the land of Egypt came to an end.

They ¹  were talking to each other about all the things that had happened.

These things happened in Bethany ¹  across the Jordan River ²  where John was baptizing.

Another sharp division took place among the Jewish people ¹  because of these words.

to do as much as your power ¹  and your plan ²  had decided beforehand ³  would happen.

This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into heaven. ¹ 

This happened three times, and then everything was pulled up to heaven again.

Joseph ¹  collected all the excess food ²  in the land of Egypt during the seven years and stored it in the cities. ³  In every city he put the food gathered from the fields around it.

This happened because the Israelites sinned against the Lord their God, who brought them up from the land of Egypt and freed them from the power of ¹  Pharaoh king of Egypt. They worshiped ²  other gods;

“Woe to you, Chorazin! ¹  Woe to you, Bethsaida! If ²  the miracles ³  done in you had been done in Tyre ⁴  and Sidon, ⁵  they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

And you, Capernaum, ¹  will you be exalted to heaven? ²  No, you will be thrown down to Hades! ³  For if the miracles done among you had been done in Sodom, it would have continued to this day.

And so he is the mediator ¹  of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the eternal inheritance he has promised, ²  since he died ³  to set them free from the violations committed under the first covenant.
