He appointed twelve: ¹  To Simon ²  he gave the name Peter;

Then he came to Simon Peter. Peter ¹  said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash ²  my feet?”

Peter looked directly ¹  at him (as did John) and said, “Look at us!”

When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she did not open the gate, but ran back in and told ¹  them ²  that Peter was standing at the gate.

But Peter ¹  said to him, “Explain this parable to us.”

Simon Peter answered, ¹  “You are the Christ, ²  the Son of the living God.”

And Peter said, “Look, we have left everything we own ¹  to follow you!” ² 

(Now Philip was from Bethsaida, ¹  the town of ²  Andrew and Peter.)

One of Jesus’ disciples, ¹  Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,

Then Peter denied it again, and immediately a rooster crowed. ¹ 

Then Peter and the other disciple set out to go to the tomb. ¹ 

So when Peter saw him, ¹  he asked Jesus, “Lord, what about him?”

But Peter and the apostles replied, ¹  “We must obey ²  God rather than people. ³ 

Then ¹  a voice said ²  to him, “Get up, Peter; slaughter ³  and eat!”

They ¹  called out to ask if Simon, known as Peter, ²  was staying there as a guest.

for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising ¹  God. Then Peter said,

So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, ¹  the circumcised believers ²  took issue with ³  him,

But Peter began and explained it to them point by point, ¹  saying,

I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Get up, Peter; slaughter ¹  and eat!’

Now ¹  when Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying down, ²  sick with a fever.
