As ¹  he was saying this, a cloud ²  came ³  and overshadowed ⁴  them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.

“I ¹  tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, ²  and after that have nothing more they can do.

He ¹  answered them, “Do you think these Galileans were worse sinners ²  than all the other Galileans, because they suffered these things?

When ¹  one of those at the meal with Jesus ²  heard this, he said to him, “Blessed is everyone ³  who will feast ⁴  in the kingdom of God!” ⁵ 

For ¹  a while he refused, but later on ²  he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor have regard for people, ³ 

“As for these things that you are gazing at, the days will come when not one stone will be left on another. ¹  All will be torn down!” ² 

And when you hear of wars and rebellions, ¹  do not be afraid. ²  For these things must happen first, but the end will not come at once.” ³ 

But stay alert at all times, ¹  praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that must ²  happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

And all those who knew Jesus ¹  stood at a distance, and the women who had followed him from Galilee saw ²  these things.

Now it was Mary Magdalene, ¹  Joanna, ²  Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles.

To those who sold the doves he said, “Take these things away from here! Do not make ¹  my Father’s house a marketplace!” ² 

After this, ¹  Jesus and his disciples came into Judean territory, and there he spent time with them and was baptizing.

“Here is a boy who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what good ¹  are these for so many people?”

After this ¹  Jesus traveled throughout Galilee. ²  He ³  stayed out of Judea ⁴  because the Jewish leaders ⁵  wanted ⁶  to kill him.

For no one who seeks to make a reputation for himself ¹  does anything in secret. ²  If you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.”

The Pharisees ¹  heard the crowd ²  murmuring these things about Jesus, ³  so the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers ⁴  to arrest him. ⁵ 

(Jesus ¹  spoke these words near the offering box ²  while he was teaching in the temple courts. ³  No one seized him because his time ⁴  had not yet come.) ⁵ 

Having said this, ¹  he spat on the ground and made some mud ²  with the saliva. He ³  smeared the mud on the blind man’s ⁴  eyes

Some of the Pharisees ¹  who were with him heard this ²  and asked him, ³  “We are not blind too, are we?” ⁴ 

After he said this, he added, ¹  “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep. ²  But I am going there to awaken him.”
