But I said, ‘Certainly not, Lord, for nothing defiled or ritually unclean ¹  has ever entered my mouth!’

No man ¹  from the descendants of Aaron who is diseased or has a discharge ²  may eat the holy offerings until he becomes clean. The one ³  who touches anything made unclean by contact with a dead person, ⁴  or a man who has a seminal emission, ⁵ 

“Look up at the hilltops and consider this. ¹  You have had sex with other gods on every one of them. ²  You waited for those gods like a thief lying in wait in the desert. ³  You defiled the land by your wicked prostitution to other gods. ⁴ 

So now, you are banished ¹  from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

The Lord spoke to Moses: “Go quickly, descend, ¹  because your ²  people, whom you brought up from the land of Egypt, have acted corruptly.

and the one who carries their carcass must wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening; they are unclean to you.

These are the ones that are unclean to you among all the swarming things. Anyone who touches them when they die will be unclean until evening.

As for any clay vessel they fall into, ¹  everything in it ²  will become unclean and you must break it.

However, a spring or a cistern which collects water ¹  will be clean, but one who touches their carcass will be unclean.

but if water is put on the seed and such a carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.

“‘Now if an animal ¹  that you may eat dies, ²  whoever touches its carcass will be unclean until the evening.

The whole time he has the infection ¹  he will be continually unclean. He must live in isolation, and his place of residence must be outside the camp.

“‘Any bed the man with a discharge lies on will be unclean, ¹  and any furniture he sits on will be unclean. ² 

Anyone who touches his bed ¹  must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening. ²

“‘When a man has a seminal emission, ¹  he must bathe his whole body in water ²  and be unclean until evening,

and he must wash in water any clothing or leather that has semen on it, and it will be unclean until evening.

When a man has sexual intercourse with a woman and there is a seminal emission, ¹  they must bathe in water and be unclean until evening.

Anything she lies on during her menstruation will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean.

Anyone who touches her bed must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.
