We know that ¹  our old man was crucified with him so that the body of sin would no longer dominate us, ²  so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.

For God achieved what the law could not do because ¹  it was weakened through the flesh. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

For this reason, if food causes my brother or sister to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I may not cause one of them ¹  to sin.

(My little children, ¹  I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. ² ) But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate ³  with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous One, ⁴ 

Everyone who has been fathered ¹  by God does not practice sin, ²  because ³  God’s ⁴  seed ⁵  resides in him, and thus ⁶  he is not able to sin, because he has been fathered by God.

So the Lord said, “The outcry against ¹  Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so blatant ² 

“‘But if he brings a sheep as his offering, for a sin offering, he must bring a flawless female.

“Then he is to offer up the fat of the sin offering ¹  in smoke on the altar,

You must also offer ¹  one male goat ²  for a sin offering and two yearling lambs for a peace offering sacrifice,

Moreover, ¹  you are to tell the Israelites, ‘If any man curses his God ²  he will bear responsibility for his sin,

¹ “‘If you ²  sin unintentionally and do not observe all these commandments that the Lord has spoken to Moses –

No longer may the Israelites approach the tent of meeting, or else they will bear their sin ¹  and die.

If a person commits a sin punishable by death and is executed, and you hang the corpse ¹  on a tree,

Then Saul said, “All you leaders of the army come here. Find out ¹  how this sin occurred today.

She asked Elijah, “Why, prophet, have you come ¹  to me to confront me with ²  my sin and kill my son?”

Obadiah ¹  said, “What sin have I committed that you are ready to hand your servant over to Ahab for execution? ² 

He did not humble himself before the Lord as his father Manasseh had done. ¹  Amon was guilty of great sin. ² 

I ¹  have not even permitted my mouth ²  to sin by asking ³  for his life through a curse –

For he adds transgression ¹  to his sin; in our midst he claps his hands, ²  and multiplies his words against God.”
