God comes ¹  from Teman, ²  the sovereign ³  one from Mount Paran. ⁴  Selah. ⁵  His splendor covers the skies, ⁶  his glory ⁷  fills the earth.

The ¹  sky ²  above your heads will be bronze and the earth beneath you iron.

if I looked at the sun ¹  when it was shining, and the moon advancing as a precious thing,

Rise up ¹  above the sky, O God! May your splendor cover the whole earth! ² 

For your loyal love extends beyond the sky, ¹  and your faithfulness reaches the clouds.

Rise up ¹  above the sky, O God! May your splendor cover the whole earth! ² 

People will fear ¹  you ²  as long as the sun and moon remain in the sky, for generation after generation. ³ 

He brought the east wind through the sky, and by his strength led forth the south wind.

For I say, “Loyal love is permanently established; ¹  in the skies you set up your faithfulness.” ² 

I will give him an eternal dynasty, ¹  and make his throne as enduring as the skies above. ² 

In earlier times you established the earth; the skies are your handiwork.

He covers himself with light as if it were a garment. He stretches out the skies like a tent curtain,

Rise up ¹  above the sky, O God! May your splendor cover the whole earth! ² 

Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary! Praise him in the sky, which testifies to his strength! ² 

Like cloudy skies and wind that produce no rain, ¹  so is the one who boasts ²  of a gift not given. ³ 

I looked and saw that there were no more people, ¹  and that all the birds in the sky had flown away.

And you, Capernaum, ¹  will you be exalted to heaven? ²  No, you will be thrown down to Hades! ³ 

For you all are sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of the darkness.

God said, “Let the water swarm with swarms ¹  of living creatures and let birds fly ²  above the earth across the expanse of the sky.”

So Moses extended his hand toward heaven, and there was absolute darkness ¹  throughout the land of Egypt for three days. ²
