The wicked lay a trap for me, but I do not wander from your precepts.

Let the wicked fall ¹  into their ²  own nets, while I escape. ³ 

The Lord lifts up the oppressed, but knocks ¹  the wicked to the ground.

You will not be afraid ¹  of sudden ²  disaster, ³  or when destruction overtakes ⁴  the wicked; ⁵ 

Do not enter the path of the wicked or walk ¹  in the way of those who are evil.

The way of the wicked is like gloomy darkness; ¹  they do not know what causes them to stumble. ² 

The Lord satisfies ¹  the appetite ²  of the righteous, but he thwarts ³  the craving ⁴  of the wicked.

Blessings ¹  are on the head of the righteous, but the speech ²  of the wicked conceals ³  violence. ⁴ 

The teaching ¹  of the righteous is a fountain of life, ²  but the speech ³  of the wicked conceals ⁴  violence. ⁵ 

What the righteous say ¹  is like ²  the best ³  silver, but what the wicked think ⁴  is of little value. ⁵ 

Fearing the Lord ¹  prolongs life, ²  but the life span ³  of the wicked will be shortened. ⁴ 

The lips of the righteous know ¹  what is pleasing, ²  but the speech ³  of the wicked is perverse.

When the righteous do well, ¹  the city rejoices; ²  when the wicked perish, there is joy.

A city is exalted by the blessing provided from ¹  the upright, but it is destroyed by the counsel ²  of the wicked. ³ 

What the righteous desire ¹  leads ²  only to good, but what the wicked hope for ³  leads ⁴  to wrath.

The words of the wicked lie in wait ¹  to shed innocent blood, ²  but the words ³  of the upright will deliver them.

A righteous person cares for ¹  the life of his animal, but even the most compassionate acts ²  of the wicked are cruel.

The righteous has enough food to satisfy his appetite, ¹  but the belly of the wicked lacks food. ² 

The Lord abhors ¹  the sacrifices ²  of the wicked, ³  but the prayer ⁴  of the upright pleases him. ⁵ 

The heart of the righteous considers ¹  how ²  to answer, ³  but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things. ⁴
