In the same way, on the outside you look righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

So also you, when you see all these things, know ¹  that he is near, right at the door.

For just like the days of Noah ¹  were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

Blessed is that slave whom the master finds at work ¹  when he comes.

“Why does this man speak this way? He is blaspheming! ¹  Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

He also said, “The kingdom of God is like someone who spreads seed on the ground.

But it is not this way among you. Instead whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant,

“This is what ¹  the Lord has done for me at the time ²  when he has been gracious to me, ³  to take away my disgrace ⁴  among people.” ⁵ 

Even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night ¹  and finds them alert, ²  blessed are those slaves! ³ 

Blessed is that slave ¹  whom his master finds at work ²  when he returns.

In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels ¹  over one sinner who repents.”

Just ¹  as it was ²  in the days of Noah, ³  so too it will be in the days of the Son of Man.

If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs ¹  it.’”

So also you, when you see these things happening, know ¹  that the kingdom of God ²  is near.

and said to them, “Thus it stands written that the Christ ¹  would suffer ²  and would rise from the dead on the third day,

Just as ¹  Moses lifted up the serpent ²  in the wilderness, ³  so must the Son of Man be lifted up, ⁴ 

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, ¹  so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes. ² 

For just as the Father has life in himself, thus he has granted the Son to have life in himself,

Then the disciple whom Jesus loved ¹  leaned back against Jesus’ chest and asked him, “Lord, who is it?”

After this ¹  Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. ²  Now this is how he did so. ³
