Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two disciples who heard what John said ¹  and followed Jesus. ² 

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, wash ¹  not only my feet, but also my hands and my head!”

So Simon Peter ¹  gestured to this disciple ²  to ask Jesus ³  who it was he was referring to. ⁴ 

The two were running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter ¹  and reached the tomb first. ² 

Then Simon Peter, who had been following him, arrived and went right into the tomb. He saw ¹  the strips of linen cloth lying there,

Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time ¹  for prayer, ²  at three o’clock in the afternoon. ³ 

When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple courts, ¹  he asked them for money. ² 

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, ¹  replied, ²  “Rulers of the people and elders, ³ 

Now ¹  send men to Joppa ²  and summon a man named Simon, ³  who is called Peter.

But Peter said, “Certainly not, Lord, for I have never eaten anything defiled and ritually unclean!” ¹ 

While Peter was still thinking seriously about ¹  the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Look! Three men are looking for you.

So when ¹  Peter came in, Cornelius met ²  him, fell ³  at his feet, and worshiped ⁴  him.

But Peter helped him up, ¹  saying, “Stand up. I too am a mere mortal.” ² 

Then Peter started speaking: ¹  “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism in dealing with people, ² 

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on ¹  all those who heard the message. ² 

So Peter was kept in prison, but those in the church were earnestly ¹  praying to God for him. ² 

Now Peter continued knocking, and when they opened the door ¹  and saw him, they were greatly astonished. ² 

From Peter, ¹  an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those temporarily residing ²  abroad ³  (in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, the province of Asia, ⁴  and Bithynia) who are chosen ⁵ 

When they had made a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them.
