A wicked scoundrel ¹  digs up ²  evil, and his slander ³  is like a scorching fire. ⁴ 

Rise up, ¹  Lord! Deliver me, my God! Yes, ²  you will strike ³  all my enemies on the jaw; you will break the teeth ⁴  of the wicked. ⁵ 

How blessed ²  is the one ³  who does not follow ⁴  the advice ⁵  of the wicked, ⁶  or stand in the pathway ⁷  with sinners, or sit in the assembly ⁸  of scoffers! ⁹ 

Upright men are appalled ¹  at this; the innocent man is troubled ²  with the godless.

‘Surely such is the residence ¹  of an evil man; and this is the place of one who has not known God.’” ² 

Not so with the wicked! Instead ¹  they are like wind-driven chaff. ² 

For this reason ¹  the wicked cannot withstand ²  judgment, ³  nor can sinners join the assembly of the godly. ⁴ 

A fool will no longer be called honorable; a deceiver will no longer be called principled.

Indeed, this is the joy of his way, ¹  and out of the earth ²  others spring up. ³ 

Hide me from the plots of evil men, from the crowd of evildoers. ¹ 

The Lord is just; he cut the ropes of the wicked.” ¹ 

For the things they do ¹  in secret are shameful even to mention.

holding to the mystery of the faith ¹  with a clear conscience.

But avoid profane chatter, ¹  because those occupied with it will stray further and further into ungodliness, ² 

He will encourage fathers and their children to return to me, ¹  so that I will not come and strike the earth with judgment.” ² 

“Surely, God does not reject a blameless man, ¹  nor does he grasp the hand ²  of the evildoers.

But their prosperity is not their own doing. ¹  The counsel of the wicked is far from me! ² 

But it was he ¹  who filled their houses with good things – yet the counsel of the wicked ²  was far from me. ³ 

Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich ¹  and his wealth multiplies! ² 

The wicked turn aside from birth; ¹  liars go astray as soon as they are born. ²
