Until I come, give attention to the public reading of scripture, ¹  to exhortation, to teaching.

But as for you, communicate the behavior that goes with ¹  sound teaching.

teaching about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

Everyone ¹  who goes on ahead and does not remain ²  in the teaching of Christ ³  does not have God. ⁴  The one who remains in this teaching has both the Father and the Son.

Listen, ¹  my child, ²  to the instruction ³  from ⁴  your father, and do not forsake the teaching ⁵  from ⁶  your mother.

The teaching ¹  of the righteous is a fountain of life, ²  but the speech ³  of the wicked conceals ⁴  violence. ⁵

You, however, ¹  have followed my teaching, my ²  way of life, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance,

Every scripture ¹  is inspired by God ²  and useful for teaching, for reproof, ³  for correction, and for training in righteousness,

who must be silenced because they mislead whole families by teaching for dishonest gain what ought not to be taught.

showing yourself to be an example of good works in every way. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,

In the same way, there are also some among you who follow the teaching of the Nicolaitans. ¹ 

My teaching will drop like the rain, my sayings will drip like the dew, ¹  as rain drops upon the grass, and showers upon new growth.
