But the Lord is in his majestic palace. ¹  The whole earth is speechless in his presence!” ² 

“On the table of the presence ¹  they must spread a blue ²  cloth, and put on it the dishes, the pans, the bowls, and the pitchers for pouring, and the Bread of the Presence must be on it continually.

So all the people went to Gilgal, where ¹  they established Saul as king in the Lord’s presence. They offered up peace offerings there in the Lord’s presence. Saul and all the Israelites were very happy.

With what should I ¹  enter the Lord’s presence? With what ²  should I bow before the sovereign God? ³  Should I enter his presence with burnt offerings, with year-old calves?

So Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and lived in the land of Nod, ¹  east of Eden.

And Moses ¹  said to him, “If your presence does not go ²  with us, ³  do not take us up from here. ⁴ 

So fire went out from the presence of the Lord ¹  and consumed them so that they died before the Lord.

There, in the presence of the Israelites, Joshua inscribed on the stones a duplicate of the law written by Moses. ¹ 

When all the men of Israel saw this man, they retreated ¹  from his presence and were very afraid.

That is why I am terrified in his presence; when I consider, I am afraid because of him.

Because God has untied ¹  my tent cord and afflicted me, people throw off all restraint in my presence. ² 

Rise up, Lord! ¹  Don’t let men be defiant! ²  May the nations be judged in your presence!

For you grant him lasting blessings; you give him great joy by allowing him into your presence. ¹ 

As for me, you uphold ¹  me because of my integrity; ²  you allow ³  me permanent access to your presence. ⁴ 

Let’s enter his presence ¹  with thanksgiving! Let’s shout out to him in celebration! ² 

The children of your servants will settle down here, and their descendants ¹  will live securely in your presence.” ² 

Certainly the godly will give thanks to your name; the morally upright will live in your presence.

When you enter my presence, do you actually think I want this – animals trampling on my courtyards? ¹ 

Turn aside from the way, stray off the path. ¹  Remove from our presence the Holy One of Israel.” ² 

Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ ¹
