May their dining table become a trap before them! May it be a snare for that group of friends! ¹ 

You cause my friends and neighbors to keep their distance; ¹  those who know me leave me alone in the darkness. ² 

Then Daniel went to his home and informed his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah of the matter.

That very day Herod and Pilate became friends with each other, ¹  for prior to this they had been enemies. ² 

we have unanimously ¹  decided ²  to choose men to send to you along with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul,

Dear friends, if our conscience does not condemn us, we have confidence in the presence of God,

But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit, ¹ 

He said, “You may go.” He permitted her to leave ¹  for two months. She went with her friends and mourned her virginity as she walked through the hills. ² 

Then Jehu killed all who were left of Ahab’s family in Jezreel, and all his nobles, close friends, and priests. He left no survivors.

But Haman restrained himself and went on to his home. He then sent for his friends to join him, ¹  along with his wife Zeresh.

I am ¹  a laughingstock ²  to my friends, ³  I, who called on God and whom he answered ⁴  – a righteous and blameless ⁵  man is a laughingstock!

With Job’s ¹  three friends he was also angry, because they could not find ²  an answer, and so declared Job guilty. ³ 

So the Lord ¹  restored what Job had lost ²  after he prayed for his friends, ³  and the Lord doubled ⁴  all that had belonged to Job.

A person who has friends ¹  may be harmed by them, ²  but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

All the relatives ¹  of a poor person hate him; ²  how much more do his friends avoid him – he pursues them ³  with words, but they do not respond. ⁴ 

So a decree went out, and the wise men were about ¹  to be executed. They also sought ²  Daniel and his friends so that they could be executed.

Then someone will ask him, ‘What are these wounds on your chest?’ ¹  and he will answer, ‘Some that I received in the house of my friends.’

“I ¹  tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, ²  and after that have nothing more they can do.

Returning ¹  home, he calls together ²  his ³  friends and neighbors, telling them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost.’

Then ¹  when she has found it, she calls together her ²  friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice ³  with me, for I have found the coin ⁴  that I had lost.’
