They are destroyed ¹  between morning and evening; ²  they perish forever ³  without anyone regarding it. ⁴ 

Such is the destiny ¹  of all who forget God; the hope of the godless ²  perishes,

the blessing of the dying man descended on me, ¹  and I made the widow’s heart rejoice; ² 

Moreover, the strength of their ¹  hands – what use was it to me? Men whose strength ²  had perished;

If I have seen anyone about to perish for lack of clothing, or a poor man without a coat,

Certainly ¹  the Lord guards the way of the godly, ²  but the way of the wicked ends in destruction. ³ 

When my enemies turn back, they trip and are defeated ¹  before you.

The Lord rules forever! ¹  The nations are driven out of his land. ² 

You destroy their offspring ¹  from the earth, their descendants ²  from among the human race. ³ 

I am forgotten, like a dead man no one thinks about; ¹  I am regarded as worthless, like a broken jar. ² 

Yes, ¹  look! Those far from you ²  die; you destroy everyone who is unfaithful to you. ³ 

It is burned ¹  and cut down. They die because you are displeased with them. ² 

May they be humiliated and continually terrified! ¹  May they die in shame! ² 

Their life’s breath departs, they return to the ground; on that day their plans die. ¹ 

For the waywardness ¹  of the simpletons will kill ²  them, and the careless ease ³  of fools will destroy them.

When the righteous do well, ¹  the city rejoices; ²  when the wicked perish, there is joy.

A false witness will not go unpunished, and the one who spouts out ¹  lies will perish. ² 

A lying witness ¹  will perish, ²  but the one who reports accurately speaks forever. ³ 

When the wicked gain control, ¹  people ²  hide themselves, ³  but when they perish, ⁴  the righteous increase.

A time to search, and a time to give something up as lost; ¹  a time to keep, and a time to throw away;
