They will cover ¹  the surface ²  of the earth, so that you ³  will be unable to see the ground. They will eat the remainder of what escaped ⁴  – what is left over ⁵  for you – from the hail, and they will eat every tree that grows for you from the field.

It is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest garden plant and becomes a tree, ¹  so that the wild birds ²  come and nest in its branches.” ³ 

One person is generous ¹  and yet grows more wealthy, ²  but another withholds more than he should ³  and comes to poverty. ⁴ 

But God gives it a body just as he planned, and to each of the seeds a body of its own.

He is a well-watered plant ¹  in ²  the sun, its shoots spread ³  over its garden. ⁴ 

The light in his tent grows dark; his lamp above him is extinguished. ¹ 

Faithfulness grows from the ground, and deliverance looks down from the sky. ¹

You must be certain to tithe ¹  all the produce of your seed that comes from the field year after year.

He grows up ¹  like a flower and then withers away; ²  he flees like a shadow, and does not remain. ³ 

Although its roots may grow old ¹  in the ground and its stump begins to die ²  in the soil, ³ 

at the scent ¹  of water it will flourish ²  and put forth ³  shoots like a new plant.

I have seen ruthless evil men ¹  growing in influence, like a green tree grows in its native soil. ² 

Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich ¹  and his wealth multiplies! ² 

Do not disregard ¹  what your enemies say, ²  or the unceasing shouts of those who defy you. ³
