One of his disciples, the one Jesus loved, ¹  was at the table ²  to the right of Jesus in a place of honor. ³ 

(Now Judas, the one who betrayed him, knew the place too, because Jesus had met there many times ¹  with his disciples.) ² 

Now Jesus performed ¹  many other miraculous signs in the presence of the ²  disciples, which are not recorded ³  in this book. ⁴ 

So the twelve ¹  called ²  the whole group ³  of the disciples together and said, “It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to wait on tables. ⁴ 

So the disciples, each in accordance with his financial ability, ¹  decided ²  to send relief ³  to the brothers living in Judea.

But after the disciples had surrounded him, he got up and went back ¹  into the city. On ²  the next day he left with Barnabas for Derbe. ³ 

They strengthened ¹  the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue ²  in the faith, saying, “We must enter the kingdom ³  of God through many persecutions.” ⁴ 

So now why are you putting God to the test ¹  by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke ²  that neither our ancestors ³  nor we have been able to bear?

Some of the disciples from Caesarea ¹  came along with us too, and brought us to the house ²  of Mnason of Cyprus, a disciple from the earliest times, ³  with whom we were to stay.

He ¹  said, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is near. I will observe the Passover with my disciples at your house.”’”

They came to Jericho. ¹  As Jesus ²  and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus the son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.

He sent two of his disciples and told them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar ¹  of water will meet you. Follow him.

Wherever he enters, tell the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’

and sent them to Jesus ¹  to ask, ²  “Are you the one who is to come, ³  or should we look for another?”

Now ¹  Jesus ²  was praying in a certain place. When ³  he stopped, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John ⁴  taught ⁵  his disciples.”

As he approached the road leading down from ¹  the Mount of Olives, ²  the whole crowd of his ³  disciples began to rejoice ⁴  and praise ⁵  God with a loud voice for all the mighty works ⁶  they had seen: ⁷ 

and tell the owner of the house, ¹  ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’

Thus Jesus no longer went ¹  around publicly ²  among the Judeans, ³  but went away from there to the region near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, ⁴  and stayed there with his disciples.

Then some of his disciples said to one another, “What is the meaning of what he is saying, ¹  ‘In a little while you ²  will not see me; again after a little while, you ³  will see me,’ and, ‘because I am going to the Father’?” ⁴ 

The girl ¹  who was the doorkeeper said to Peter, “You’re not one of this man’s disciples too, are you?” ²  He replied, ³  “I am not.”
