yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we live, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we live. ¹ 

Now we pray to God that you may not do anything wrong, not so that we may appear to have passed the test, ¹  but so that you may do what is right ²  even if we may appear to have failed the test. ³ 

and forgive us our debts, as we ourselves ¹  have forgiven our debtors.

If ¹  this matter is heard before the governor, ²  we will satisfy him ³  and keep you out of trouble.” ⁴ 

Peter began to speak to him, “Look, ¹  we have left everything to follow you!” ² 

And Peter said, “Look, we have left everything we own ¹  to follow you!” ² 

And we rightly so, for we are getting what we deserve for what we did, but this man has done nothing ¹  wrong.”

They ¹  heaped insults ²  on him, saying, ³  “You are his disciple! ⁴  We are disciples of Moses!

We know that God has spoken to Moses! We do not know where this man ¹  comes from!”

So Thomas (called Didymus ¹ ) ²  said to his fellow disciples, “Let us go too, so that we may die with him.” ³ 

The glory ¹  you gave to me I have given to them, that they may be one just as we are one –

When we heard this, both we and the local people ¹  begged him not to go up to Jerusalem.

When you examine ¹  him yourself, you will be able to learn from him ²  about all these things we are accusing him of doing.” ³ 

But we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not just please ourselves. ¹ 

For who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to advise him? ¹  But we have the mind of Christ.

Each competitor must exercise self-control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.

If anyone intends to quarrel about this, we have no other practice, nor do the churches of God.

God ¹  made the one who did not know sin ²  to be sin for us, so that in him ³  we would become the righteousness of God.

For we rejoice whenever we are weak, but you are strong. And we pray for this: that you may become fully qualified. ¹ 

But even if we (or an angel from heaven) should preach ¹  a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, ²  let him be condemned to hell! ³
