For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. ¹ 

And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, ¹  heirs according to the promise.

For you are our glory and joy!

Jesus replied, ¹  “You people ²  are from below; I am from above. You people are from this world; I am not from this world.

You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden.

For it is not you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher and you are all brothers.

In the same way, on the outside you look righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Woe to you! ¹  You are like unmarked graves, and people ²  walk over them without realizing it!” ³ 

But ¹  he will reply, ²  ‘I don’t know where you come from! ³  Go away from me, all you evildoers!’ ⁴ 

Then ¹  he said to them, “Why are you frightened, ²  and why do doubts ³  arise in your hearts?

(For Jesus ¹  knew the one who was going to betray him. For this reason he said, “Not every one of you is ²  clean.”) ³ 

Everyone ¹  will know by this that you are my disciples – if you have love for one another.”

For whenever someone says, “I am with Paul,” or “I am with Apollos,” are you not merely human? ¹ 

Do you not know that you are God’s temple ¹  and that God’s Spirit lives in you?

It is the same with you. Since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, ¹  seek to abound in order to strengthen the church.

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is useless; you are still in your sins.

For this reason also I wrote you: ¹  to test you to see ²  if you are obedient in everything.

You yourselves are our letter, ¹  written on our hearts, known and read by everyone,

even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you are saved! ¹  –
