For the one who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by people. ¹ 

For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not acquitted because of this. The one who judges me is the Lord.

For indeed, what had been glorious now ¹  has no glory because of the tremendously greater glory of what replaced it. ² 

And all who will behave ¹  in accordance with this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on the Israel of God. ² 

But if you suffer as a Christian, ¹  do not be ashamed, but glorify ²  God that you bear such a name. ³ 

Indeed, as long as I am in this tabernacle, ¹  I consider it right to stir you up by way of a reminder,

Although these false teachers promise ¹  such people ²  freedom, they themselves are enslaved to ³  immorality. ⁴  For whatever a person succumbs to, to that he is enslaved. ⁵ 

And by this ¹  we will know that we are of the truth and will convince ²  our conscience ³  in his presence, ⁴ 

The devil said to him, “If ¹  you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” ² 

Nevertheless, do not rejoice that ¹  the spirits submit to you, but rejoice ²  that your names stand written ³  in heaven.”

So ¹  the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this man your place.’ Then, ashamed, ²  you will begin to move to the least important ³  place.

who will not receive many times more ¹  in this age ²  – and in the age to come, eternal life.” ³ 

Then ¹  Jesus said to him, “Today salvation ²  has come to this household, ³  because he too is a son of Abraham! ⁴ 

Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! For there will be great distress ¹  on the earth and wrath against this people.

Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, ¹  and you people ²  say that the place where people must worship is in Jerusalem.” ³ 

Jesus said to her, “Believe me, woman, ¹  a time ²  is coming when you will worship ³  the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.

nor do you have his word residing in you, because you do not believe the one whom he sent.

The doorkeeper ¹  opens the door ²  for him, ³  and the sheep hear his voice. He ⁴  calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. ⁵ 

Now we know that you know everything ¹  and do not need anyone ²  to ask you anything. ³  Because of this ⁴  we believe that you have come from God.”

Now Jesus performed ¹  many other miraculous signs in the presence of the ²  disciples, which are not recorded ³  in this book. ⁴
