Now when the Pharisees ¹  and Sadducees ²  came to test Jesus, ³  they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. ⁴ 

But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Do not be afraid.”

Now ¹  someone came up to him and said, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to gain eternal life?”

The same day Sadducees ¹  (who say there is no resurrection) ²  came to him and asked him, ³ 

a woman came to him with an alabaster jar ¹  of expensive perfumed oil, ²  and she poured it on his head as he was at the table. ³ 

He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. ¹  Then Pilate ordered that it be given to him.

He came and raised her up by gently taking her hand. Then the fever left her and she began to serve ¹  them.

Then some Pharisees ¹  came, and to test him ²  they asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his ³  wife?” ⁴ 

She ¹  came up behind Jesus ²  and touched the edge ³  of his cloak, ⁴  and at once the bleeding ⁵  stopped.

Now some Sadducees ¹  (who contend that there is no resurrection) ²  came to him.

When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight, and when he approached to investigate, there came the voice of the Lord,

Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.”

Meanwhile Saul, still breathing out threats ¹  to murder ²  the Lord’s disciples, went to the high priest

So the commanding officer ¹  came and asked ²  Paul, ³  “Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?” ⁴  He replied, ⁵  “Yes.”

After this had happened, many of the people on the island who were sick ¹  also came and were healed. ² 

So as you come to him, ¹  a living stone rejected by men but ²  chosen and priceless ³  in God’s sight,

The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become bread.” ¹ 

When ¹  he saw the crowds, he went up the mountain. ²  After he sat down his disciples came to him.

Then John’s ¹  disciples came to Jesus ²  and asked, “Why do we and the Pharisees ³  fast often, ⁴  but your disciples don’t fast?”

So the slaves ¹  of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Then where did the weeds come from?’
