The Lord will designate you as his holy people just as he promised you, if you keep his commandments ¹  and obey him. ² 

Then I will allow your dynasty to rule over Israel permanently, ¹  just as I promised your father David, ‘You will not fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.’ ² 

He will build a temple to honor me; ¹  he will become my son, and I will become his father. I will grant to his dynasty permanent rule over Israel.’ ² 

For ignoring the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking instead to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

I will give him an eternal dynasty, ¹  and make his throne as enduring as the skies above. ² 

Do you know the laws of the heavens, or can you set up their rule over the earth?

Confirm to your servant your promise, ¹  which you made to the one who honors you. ² 

I confirm ¹  my covenant with you: Never again will all living things ²  be wiped out ³  by the waters of a flood; ⁴  never again will a flood destroy the earth.”

I will confirm ¹  my covenant as a perpetual ²  covenant between me and you. It will extend to your descendants after you throughout their generations. I will be your God and the God of your descendants after you. ³ 

Then I will establish your dynasty, ¹  just as I promised your father David, ‘You will not fail to have a successor ruling over Israel.’ ² 

Today he will affirm that you are his people and that he is your God, ¹  just as he promised you and as he swore by oath to your ancestors ²  Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Hate what is wrong, love what is right! Promote ¹  justice at the city gate! ²  Maybe the Lord, the God who commands armies, will have mercy on ³  those who are left from ⁴  Joseph. ⁵ 

And, after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ ¹  will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. ² 

when God arose to execute judgment, and to deliver all the oppressed of the earth. (Selah)

The Lord tears down the house of the proud, ¹  but he maintains the boundaries of the widow. ² 

O Lord, you make us secure, ¹  for even all we have accomplished, you have done for us. ² 

You also be patient and strengthen your hearts, for the Lord’s return is near.

David defeated King Hadadezer of Zobah as far as Hamath, when he went to extend his authority ¹  to the Euphrates River. ² 

Do we then nullify ¹  the law through faith? Absolutely not! Instead ²  we uphold the law.
