Manasseh passed away ¹  and was buried in his palace garden, the garden of Uzzah, and his son Amon replaced him as king.

Now at the place where Jesus ¹  was crucified ²  there was a garden, ³  and in the garden ⁴  was a new tomb where no one had yet been buried. ⁵ 

He is a well-watered plant ¹  in ²  the sun, its shoots spread ³  over its garden. ⁴ 

The Lover to His Beloved: You are a locked garden, ¹  my sister, my bride; you are an enclosed spring, a sealed-up fountain.

The Beloved to Her Lover: Awake, O north wind; come, O south wind! Blow on my garden so that its fragrant spices may send out their sweet smell. ¹  May my beloved come into his garden and eat its delightful fruit!

He was buried ¹  in his tomb in the garden of Uzzah, and his son Josiah replaced him as king.

You are a garden spring, ¹  a well ²  of fresh water ³  flowing down from Lebanon.

Now ¹  a river flows ²  from Eden ³  to water the orchard, and from there it divides ⁴  into four headstreams. ⁵ 

Then the Lord God commanded ¹  the man, “You may freely eat ²  fruit ³  from every tree of the orchard,

For you will be like a tree whose leaves wither, like an orchard ¹  that is unwatered.

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God moving about ¹  in the orchard at the breezy time ²  of the day, and they hid ³  from the Lord God among the trees of the orchard.

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat ¹  of the fruit from the trees of the orchard;

The Beloved to the Maidens: My beloved has gone down to his garden, ¹  to the flowerbeds of balsam spices, ²  to graze ³  in the gardens, and to gather lilies. ⁴ 

I made it beautiful with its many branches; all the trees of Eden, in the garden of God, envied it.

The Lord God planted an orchard ¹  in the east, ²  in Eden; ³  and there he placed the man he had formed. ⁴ 

The Lord God took the man and placed ¹  him in the orchard in ²  Eden to care for it and to maintain it. ³ 

So the Lord God expelled him ¹  from the orchard in Eden to cultivate the ground from which he had been taken.

The cedars in the garden of God could not eclipse it, nor could the fir trees ¹  match its boughs; the plane trees were as nothing compared to its branches; no tree in the garden of God could rival its beauty.

The man replied, ¹  “I heard you moving about ²  in the orchard, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.”

When he had said these things, ¹  Jesus went out with his disciples across the Kidron Valley. ²  There was an orchard ³  there, and he and his disciples went into it.
