Revelation 10:7

Context
10:7 But in the days 1  when the seventh angel is about to blow his trumpet, the mystery of God is completed, 2  just as he has 3  proclaimed to his servants 4  the prophets.”

Revelation 11:10

Revelation 11:12

11:12 Then 5  they 6  heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them: “Come up here!” So the two prophets 7  went up to heaven in a cloud while 8  their enemies stared at them.

Revelation 22:6

Context
A Final Reminder

22:6 Then 9  the angel 10  said to me, “These words are reliable 11  and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants 12  what must happen soon.”

Revelation 22:9

Context
22:9 But 13  he said to me, “Do not do this! 14  I am a fellow servant 15  with you and with your brothers the prophets, and with those who obey 16  the words of this book. Worship God!”

1 tn Grk “But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel.”

2 tn The aorist ἐτελέσθη (etelesqh) has been translated as a proleptic (futuristic) aorist (ExSyn 564 cites this verse as an example).

3 tn The time of the action described by the aorist εὐηγγέλισεν (euhngelisen) seems to be past with respect to the aorist passive ἐτελέσθη (etelesqh). This does not require that the prophets in view here be OT prophets. They may actually refer to the martyrs in the church (so G. B. Caird, Revelation [HNTC], 129).

4 tn See the note on the word “servants” in 1:1.

5 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence of events within the vision.

6 tn Though the nearest antecedent to the subject of ἤκουσαν (hkousan) is the people (“those who were watching them”), it could also be (based on what immediately follows) that the two prophets are the ones who heard the voice.

7 tn Grk “they”; the referent (the two prophets) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

8 tn The conjunction καί (kai) seems to be introducing a temporal clause contemporaneous in time with the preceding clause.

9 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence within the narrative.

10 tn Grk “he”; the referent (the angel mentioned in 21:9, 15; 22:1) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

11 tn Grk “faithful.”

12 tn See the note on the word “servants” in 1:1.

13 tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “but” to indicate the contrast present here.

14 tn On the elliptical expression ὅρα μή ({ora mh) BDAG 720 s.v. ὁράω B.2 states: “Elliptically…ὅρα μή (sc. ποιήσῃς) watch out! don’t do that! Rv 19:10; 22:9.”

15 tn Grk “fellow slave.” Though σύνδουλος (sundoulos) is here translated “fellow servant,” the word does not bear the connotation of a free individual serving another. See the note on the word “servants” in 1:1.

16 tn Grk “keep” (an idiom for obedience).
